Saint Valentine's Day

The last month of winter has come, and with it comes one of the most beautiful and romantic holidays – Saint Valentine's Day. There are many legends explaining how the holiday originated. One of them tells us that it commemorates the martyrdom of one of two early Christian saints, Valentine of Rome or Valentine of Terni. There is also mention of a third saint named Valentine who was martyred in Africa with a number of companions.

While the holiday’s early history is unclear, by the beginning of the 18th century it had become a tradition for lovers to send one another postcards – valentines – and this custom is now widespread around the world. In Russia today, the holiday is welcomed as an island of warmth in the midst of the ocean of worries and troubles of modern life. Flowers, gifts, and good old valentines are among the many ways to send your loved one a warm embrace in the middle of a cold winter. But there is a better way still…

The Korston Hotel Moscow invites you – romantics and those who are in love –to come celebrate love and affection in our Extra Lounge restaurant. A magnificent view of the historical centre of the city, soft lighting, and live music will create an intimate atmosphere that is sure to warm the heart of your loved one!

We wish you much happiness and love! Come let romance bloom in Extra Lounge!
