Brunch – 5 hours of family happiness
With the frenetic pace of modern life, we have less and less time to spend with our family. We build our careers and spend time on household chores, but do not pay enough attention to people we love. But they need, and deserve, our time.
Modern family life is an unending, repetitive cycle. We cook meals, eat, houseclean, raise the kids, tidy up the house, go to bed and fall asleep. The next morning we see a new day coming similar to previous one. Weekends are filled with more household cares. On and on… Is there a place for joy, newness, and romanticism?
Now just imagine: a luxurious hall modeled after a Paris city square in the early evening. Friendly waiters greet you as you enter, your hear the sound of light music as you are taken to your table. Your family takes its seats at a big round table. The light is soft and soothing. You come to the buffet table, and see a wide selection of salads, meat and fish appetizers, and main courses. You talk to your loved ones. Not far from your table, your children play in a hall complete with clowns and animators to watch over them. Your children are not far from you, and you can have them join you at any moment if you wish. A little later you choose a dessert, take a cup of splendid coffee and…
In the evening you come back home well rested and full of strength. You go to bed and have pleasant dreams after having had a perfect, restful day. When Monday comes, you feel like you are ready to move mountains, to take on the world!
Is this an idyll? No, this is reality. This is brunch – the perfect way to have a carefree time with the people you love. You really take a rest when all your family is here with you and there is someone to take care of your food and entertainment. 5 hours of paradise! And you are not alone in here! Many people come to branches permanently. They get to know each other and make friends with other happy couples like them. So brunch is also new friends and plenty of communication!
The word "brunch" is a portmanteau word combining the words “breakfast” and “lunch” and aptly describes a meal combining lighter breakfast and more substantial lunch fare. Brunch as we now know it apparently got its start in England in the late part of the 19th century, and credit for proposing the meal goes to Guy Beringer. In 1895, Beringer wrote an essay published in Hunter’s Weekly entitled “Brunch: A Plea”, in which he advocated for “a new meal served around noon” that starts with “tea or coffee, marmalade and other breakfast fixtures before moving on to heavier fare.” Beringer praised this meal as “cheerful, sociable and…talk-compelling,” and wrote that it “sweeps away the cobwebs of the week.”
Brunches appeared in Russia at the end of the 20th century. Today brunch is enjoyed as a leisurely way for friends and families to pass the time on weekends with tasty meals and an entertainment program. Brunches became thematic for maximum change, there are days of Russian, Thai, Mexican cuisine, Butter Week, New Year’s day and so on.
